The young Sakurazukamori leaned heavily on the table, fixing his gray gaze upon the faces of his fellow members of the High Council, his smooth skin and perfect poise snapped with the energy of his own fervor as he spoke, passionately defending the Night Class Treaty to them. “Can we safely ignore the growing threat any longer?” He asks, fixing them with a powerful gaze, sweeping the chamber. “The Humans have come further than we might have considered possible… How many in this room are old enough to remember the centuries gone by?” He asks, drawing them deeper into the web of his intrigue. “The automobile, the aircraft, and the advent of modern medicine…” He says, japing the table with each word. “Human ingenuity at its finest created with no outside help from our kind. How long have we watched them as inferior, as beasts? And yet how much longer can we deny their strengths?” He asks, his black hair falling around his pale face.
“Yes, they are a short lived race, prone to see things from the petty narrow view, rather than the entire picture. However, in bye gone days long past, were we so different? Can we safely ignore them and keep them separate for much longer?” He asks, straightening as takes a moment to pace. “The same ingenuity that they have used to create this modern world has led to the creation and development of the most terrifying weapons imaginable. Theirs is a power that dwarfs our own Pureblood abilities in the sheer scale of destructive force.” He declares boldly layering more intrigue upon layer of intrigue. “Their nuclear weapons are powerful enough to wipe the world clean of life, and yet rather than try to prepare them to coexist with our own kind, to guide them as only we can, we still cling to the old supremist views, seeing them as our food nothing more.”
His eyes are burning up now, snapping with intensity. “A push of a button can destroy both our races, as well as the entire world itself. I ask you again, how can we safely continue down the path of ignorance? I myself can no longer stand by idly as the old way’s march us closer and closer to extinction along side the humans. I say that the time has come now to prepare them to live along side us, not as simple food, but as another race upon this planet. You are all aware of the work I have done in creating a staple food source that is not dependant on the humans… This is only the first step, and the Night Class Experiment has the potential to create a new world. We must keep that in mind that the time for simply hiding and preying upon them as a lesser species must end. Are we to reveal ourselves? Of course not, our secrecy is our greatest defense… Yet neither can we afford to ignore their development any longer.”
He pauses for a moment. “I will own the world, and I will see to it that they will not destroy us along side them. However I will do so in my own way, by controlling the flow of the technologies they might use to destroy themselves. I have spent much time researching the human’s businesses, as well as their military and civilian achievements. I have begun taking steps now, using the businesses created by my family, expanding constantly. At present, of the top Fortune 500 companies of the world, 436 are already operating under my influence.” He says, holding back nothing as he goes on the attack, revealing his own policies. “Forbes has a list, detailing that in the world today there are 946 Billionaires… I will admit honestly and totally that of those 900, more than 1/10th are either fronts for my own businesses, or simply myself.” He says, his eyes narrowing. “What is power today? We live in a world where almost any country has the ability to destroy the world. Thus power has evolved… Did you know that with less than a billion American dollars I have ‘bought’ the majority of the American Senate and House of Representatives? The American system of Democracy is naturally corrupt, but it is so easy to usurp it. Using them in my pocket, I am free to create and pass whatever bill I imagine, totally and completely exploiting the veto system the American government was build upon.”
He says, sitting back in his seat and breathing a sigh. “Once we looked at the maps themselves, defining power by the amount of territory under the control of vast Empires and the like, however in this new millennium territory, no matter where is utterly worthless. It is the technology itself that controls humanity, and by controlling its flow and moderating it, I can steer them down a new path.” He says, his voice taking on a contemplative tone, as he shrugs. “After all, has not the last hundred years shown us that even the leaders of the humans themselves are powerless to halt or even slow the spread of technology. Where once Britain, Russia, or America was the undisputed power in the world, even the smallest of extremist nations can become a powerful threat thanks to the power of the Intercontinental Ballistics Missile system, and the use of the nuclear warhead.” He says softly. “We have a choice now, and I believe that choice has become all too clear, we must prepare them and guide them away from a self destructive path that would only consume us regardless of our truces or our own perceived sense of superiority.” He adds, fixing them each with a long look. “That said, I ask for your total and unwavering support in this Night Class experiment.”
There it is the heart of the matter and his call to have them show their allegiance to the soon to be new world. “I will show you power beyond anything you have ever imagined, and I will show you that when properly kept on a leash, the humans can be allowed to live without the risk of our destruction when one extremist nation finally decides to launch the nuclear attack that ill utterly and completely destroy the world, and everyone and everything on it.” He says, pausing for a moment. “I imagine that in this matter, our destiny is quite clear. We must continue forward with the Night Class experiment, or doom ourselves to die along side the humans when they reach the point of no return that has loomed steadily closer these last few decades.” He settled back in his seat, awaiting the decision now.
