Character Description (tell us what your character looks like):

Like almost all vampires, Haruka has been told that she is beautiful, perfect, etc. etc. Her luscous lips are always adorned with the slightest hint of lip gloss, something that she usually never leaves without; being a little vain about her looks. Her hair usually hangs in waves of golden-brown, and her eyes are a gorgeous jade-green color. Her face is (predictably) perfect: that is to say, no pimple, spot, scar, blackhead or any other blemish decorates it. Her build is slim, and she is known to possess curves; just not as emphasized as many other vampires she has been known to have met. It is also safe to say that no matter what she wears (whether it be a skirt or trousers), her build would accomodate it.

To emphasize her clear porcelain skin, she wears mostly light colors: the day that she had set foot inside Cross Academy, she was clad in; a white unbuttoned blouse atop a white tank top, and a black skirt that rose just above her knees. White flats rested securely on her feet.

Character Personality (how does your character thinks, reacts or acts):

Her personality ... she tends not to overreact. Definitely.

However, she is prone to never judge anyone on the first meeting or acquintance, that is for sure.

She also tends to not be much of an attention-seeker, preferring to stay at the back. Whether this is because she does not like being in the spotlight, or because she does not like 'humiliating' herself in front of people remains to be discovered.

She is described as being controlled; she would never throw a temper tantrum, cry out loud in the open, or display open affections of shock. Even when she is complimented, she goes about her daily life in a modest way, being careful as to not draw attention to herself; after all, she believes that certain people have attention thrust upon them, others ... well, they can just keep acting modest.

Whilst her parents were slightly more narcisstic about their looks, Haruka had never let it bother her: she knew that certain vampires had much more to offer than she did, and she had never felt that strongly about her outward appearance, unveiling one of her insecurities.

However, behind that poker face of hers, lies an alert and watchful woman, who uses the thoughts of the people around her to think out her plan.

Character Background (your character history before s\he joined the Academy):

Haruka's background is relatively interesting; she went to boarding school like most of the other vampires, and experienced life both in the UK and the US. She was fluent in around 10 languages, and could read long hardback novels by the age of six. It was around that age that her parents discovered that she was adept in the art of telepathy (although, admittedly, they were more focussed on how they would be able to allow their daughter to adapt to that power efficiently).

It was only when the news of Hiou Shizuka's disappearance was broadcast, that her parents wanted their only child to quickly get engaged and settle down; since young, both Mina and Hanazawa had been worshipping the Purebloods (perhaps, too much so) and had wanted to bridge the gap between the Purebloods and the Noblebloods. They had chosen a Noble from a family that had close relations to the Mizukis, yet Haruka had never met him: this sparked some anger inside her - marrying someone she had never met ...?

It was after she had overheard her parents' conversation for them to send their child off to be engaged to be married, that Haruka had made up her mind to run away from home: her parents had never catered much to their daughter, anyway; taking interest only in the affairs that bothered them.

Finding solace nowhere else but Cross Academy (and after discovering that Kaname studied there), Haruka sent in her application; believing that Kaname would be able to persuade her parents to rethink on their decision.

What are your character's special skills and unusual abilities (if you're human) or your powers (if you're vampire)? Please keep this at least somewhat faithful to VK canon, don't start making up powers that would completely make no sense in the series.

Haruka's primary ability includes reading the thoughts of people; her mind is her main weapon. She is also gifted in moving objects and other things with her mind.

How does your character feel about her\his vampiric state (if you're vampire) or How would your character react if s/he was turned into a vampire (if you're human)?

Haruka was born and raised as a vampire; naturally, she has embraced her vampiric state. However - due to her parents' lack of attention (where she is concerned) - Haruka (slightly) regrets the fact that she had not been born to become more powerful than many other Noble families - or any Pureblood families, predictably. However, she had to work with what she had.

Character Family and Friends:

Mina Mizuki - Haruka's beautiful mother, who apparently struggled to express her feelings for Haruka Kuran, going so far as to name her daughter after him. She is known to have the same eyes as her daughter, having passed them on to her.

Hanazawa Mizuki - The man who gave Haruka her light hair and tends to be more charming. Unlike Haruka, he uses his looks to his advantage, which could be how he had wooed Mina.

Haruka has yet to meet anyone who she would consider a 'true friend' ... Maybe, she should start hanging around with more people.

Character Goals:

Haruka prowled through the Moon Dorm corridor; something she had recently become accustomed to, given that she was more comfortable with solitary. The moonlight shined on her fragile form, and she found herself looking up at the moon, so tranquil, so beautiful ...

Haruka had never had the chance to experience beauty; given that she, herself, was regarded as 'pretty', but had never been able to handle it. Whilst some vampires (and, possibly, humans) embraced their looks - and even flaunted them, from time to time - Haruka had always slipped into the shadows where her looks were concerned. Why couldn't she use her looks like them, to charm and (the conscience in her purred) manipulate people, just like that ...? Like her father-

She clenched her right hand into a fist: maybe not like her father, then. Maybe ...

Maybe, she should just stick with being herself before looking up to people. Her parents were not the best role models, come to think of it ...

The moonlight helped illuminate the glow on her porcelain skin: she felt like a china doll, vulnerable and fragile in this big Academy; it had been her first day here, and already she sensed something.

She sniffed the air, thoughtful.

'Humans ...?' She frowned, her eyebrows coming together and meeting at the center of her forehead. She turned towards the window.

Humans, it was. She glimpsed two Day Class female students wandering around outside, murmuring in low voices. Her hand, if possible, clenched even tighter. 'I wonder what they want ...'
