Character Description (tell us what your character looks like):

Kobayashi has longish blond hair that often falls over his piercing green eyes. He is about 5"4 and he weighs around 120 lbs. He is thin for a 17 year old, but he has a sort of wiry strength, and he tries to exercise often. He is very pale, as he tried to keep away from the sun as a kid. He has gotten both his ears pierced, and he often wears a pure white, jeweled stud as his earrings.

When he is not wearing the white uniform of the Cross Academy night class students he usually wears his favorite blue jean jacket, that he picked up in town near the academy. This jean jacket has a secret inside packet where he keeps his blood pills. Everything else may vary but his favorite combination is an orange t-shirt underneath with tight blue jeans and black shoes. He often carries a brown, plain backpack with all his books and larger things he needs. If he has to go out during the day he will often bring pure black sunglasses that can make it easier on his eyes.

Character Personality (how does your character thinks, reacts or acts):

Kobayashi is very enthusiastic and fun-loving. He hates when things get too routine, and sometimes he will do something completely impulsive just to prevent that. He hates the dull, and he may try to sneak out of the dorms in order to get a look at hte day class or go into town. He is very outgoing, and loves to make friends [with the Day Class especially].

He also totally believes in vampire and human peace. He picked it up from his parents, who tried to make many human friends. He has vowed never to drink a human's blood, and using the blood pills he fights the urge with a passion. He isn't afraid about telling humans he is a vampire, with hopes that they will still treat him normally. Finally, he is almost aggressive when defending humans, often getting into fights with other vampires. He hopes for a day when vampires and humans can live together.

Character Background (your character history before s\he joined the Academy):

Kobayashi was born to a small family of Noble vampires [human blood had gotten into the line somewhere in the past] that lived in a remote village in Japan. They lived in a small castle, isolated from the village as his parents didn't want cause any panic by living with the humans. They were both very peaceful, and wanted very much for their to be peace between humans and vampires. They would often go into town and try to make friends, but the eerie atmosphere they brought prevented them from making many. They didn't drink anyone's blood, they had been fighting the urge for years. This made them a little crazy but they still raised their children lovingly. He had one sister, who was older than him, and the time with his family was the happiest time of all. He grew up learning to be tolerant of humans, and whenever possible try to encourage peace between them. His parents also taught him to use his powers, in case he was attacked for what he was. Unfortunately, they had to forbid him from going into town because there were rumors in the village about them being some sort of monsters.

One year, when he was 10 he decided to finally go and sneak out to see a human for himself. He dressed in a lot of clothes, finding that the bare sun made his skin tingle and that it was very bright. He made it into the village quickly and started to go into all the different stores. After a while a girl about his age approached him.

"You look funny!" She squeaked, looking at him with a smile.

He introduced himself and made fast friends with the girl. They spent the day together, but eventually he had to go home. She followed him, and his parents couldn't help but be happy that he had accomplished what they had tried and had made a human friend. Through the years they became best friends.

When he turned 13 he was finally allowed to go into the village. His sister had also done her own part for human vampire peace as she had married a human from the town. He knew about them being vampires, but he accepted them for it. Spurred on by his sister's accomplishment, he asked the girl [Mae was her name] to be his girlfriend. She said yes quickly and then they started spending everyday together. She never even questioned why he always had to wear sun glasses or all these layers. Unfortunately, a vampire hunter had moved into town. He started inciting the people, trying to convince them that the family were vampires. The town, who had grown to like the weird family had not listened to him but he still kept on realizing that he couldn't kill the whole family by himself.

Kobayashi turned 16 and little did he know that this year would change his life. He didn't have to tell Mae he was a vampire, she had figured it out when they had kissed. She had almost cut herself on his fangs. He was starting to wonder what blood tasted like, but he was forbidden to ever bite any humans. Instead, his family had started trying to drink each others blood. He had never been bitten, bieng the youngest, but his older sister had let him drink her blood. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough, and on one fateful night his father had gone insane. One of his friends had cut themself falling down and he attacked her. There was hardly any of her body left. This had given the hunter the ammunition he needed, and he soon had the entire town marching with all the weapons they could find. Mae had tried to stop them. As this was happening, Mae and Kobayashi were exploring the forest near their house. When they returned, the house was in ruins, and the most of the family was dead, having too much love for humans to hurt them. He found his mother dying. The words she said stayed with him forever.

"Don't blame them.... they just don't understand..."

He quickly fled the village. Mae had tried to follow but he left her behind, knowing that he might not be able to suppress his urge and he might hurt her. He wandered for a year, before being found by a vampire who showed him to Cross Academy.

What are your character's special skills and unusual abilities (if you're human) or your powers (if you're vampire)? Please keep this at least somewhat faithful to VK canon, don't start making up powers that would completely make no sense in the series.

His entire family had had the same power, the power to merge into objects and move through solid things. An example is that Kobayashi could merge into the wall, move behind his opponent and attack from surprise. He can also do things like go into the floor, and come from underneath or go into walls or trees to protect himself. However, if the object he is hiding in gets destroyed, he is wounded or killed. This is besides the usual enhancements that a vampire has.

How does your character feel about her\his vampiric state (if you're vampire) or How would your character react if s/he was turned into a vampire (if you're human)?

He was born into a family of vampires and he wouldn't have it any other way. His impulsive attitude goes hand in hand with being outside the normal. He loves the fact that he's different, and he doesn't want to fit in. Also, he believes it gives him the ability to fight for his cause.

Character Goals:

His main goal is to hopefully bring peace between the vampires and the humans, so that they don't have to be divided. Other goals are just learning as much as possible about the two races and his own power.

Kobayashi strolled down the lonely street. The wind seemed to carry the dust from the path into the air, creating a western effect. He scanned the buildings, looking for somewhere to eat. His hand entered his pocket roughly, feeling around for any money. To his disappointment he only pulled out a few coins. He had spent almost all of his money buying this cosy jean jacket in the last town. He would have to get money somewhere, but it seemed like nobody was even going outside their house. He took a few more steps before a shadow that looked somewhat like a person fell across the street. He looked up, shielding his eyes from the sun, ready to ask if he could do anything for money when he dropped the coins he was holding. The person, who he thought was a woman, was glaring at him with her mouth open. Her eyes were red and her fangs were noticeable.

He took a step back. A question rang out in his mind. Was this what happened to my father? He clenched his fists. She had probably hurt people. He had to stop her. From his family he knew that he was way stronger than this crazed vampire. She charged him and he avoided by merging with the ground. His entire body seemed to get swallowed up by the dust. She looked around, confused. He jumped out, right behind her, grabbing her by the head and neck. She struggled, clawing his arms but he squeezed and then twisted. He bit into her neck, and started to drink. She got weak, and started to sway, before falling unconscious. He quickly finished the job, watching her turn to dust.

He licked his lips. He had a problem against sucking the blood of humans but a bad vampire was fair game. It had also helped quench his thirst. He looked around quickly, seeing a few people staring in alarm. Deciding it would be best to leave quickly he started to run He almost couldn't help but smiling. His life wasn't easy but it sure as hell wasn't boring.

About the Player (tell us about yourself):

Well I'm a huge anime geek xD. I love watching and reading all types though Shoujo is my favorite. I also love to read, and I always am reading a book. I've currently run out of good ones so I have to rely on the library for now. I'm a bit of a writer, and I am trying to figure out an original project at the moment [but it's hard D=]. I also love drama, and I try to be in all the school plays. Finally, I like symphonic metal music, which is like a mix between classical and rock.

How long have you been a fan of this series?

I've only recently found it but I'm almost done the anime and I'm getting all the books from my library. It's awesome!

What other manga or anime do you like?

I like Naruto, Bleach, Witch Hunter Robin, Descendants of Darkness, TOKKO, Claymore, Tactics, Kenshin, PHD Phantasy degree, Deathnote, D. Gray Man, Gravitation, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Treasure, and Full Metal Alchemist [sorry, it's a really long list xD].
