Character Description (tell us what your character looks like):

Suzume is very short, around five feet tall, she has long brown hair that is normally tied in a pony tail and a thick fringe, she has a small bell in her hair, she also has sapphire blue eyes and her skin is a pale peachy colour
Her hair reaches her waist when its tied up. She has two lengths of loose hair that she keeps down one of which has a bell in it.
Suzume has a very curvy waist but lacks a chest (which doesn‘t seem to bother her), she’s also fairly thin and has very child like features.
Suzume’s also very quick and light on her feet, so when she walks she makes very little noise. She doesn’t talk much but her voice is somewhat musical and nice to listen to.

Character Personality (how does your character thinks, reacts or acts):

Suzume's a fairly quite girl and is never normally seen talking to someone. Although she’s known to wander around the school a lot.
She also tends to stay away from boys for the most part. Because when she was younger she was constantly bullied by boys in her school and has stayed away from them ever since. But she does talk to some boys on occasion.
Once Suzume gets an idea into her head she’ll run with it and not give a damn about the consequences and usually does it on her own, she‘d rarely drag others into it. She stubborn and will not give up on an idea she has until she proves it otherwise herself.
She’s got a really short fuse (some say its shorter than she is) but instead of verbally abusing someone she’d give you the silent treatment and glare at you from the shadows for weeks and weeks on end if she’s angry with you.
Suzume often has her head up in the clouds, day dreaming a lot. Sometimes its like she lives in her own world. To her life is just one big game and who ever has the most fun at the end wins.
Her definition of fun being; Reading all the time or discovering new places, mainly places rumoured to be haunted, to delve into.
Suzume doesn’t usually speak to anyone but when she does she’s fairly humours about it. She’d keep the tone really light. When she talks its almost like she’s putting on a performance, she’s surprisingly entertaining to talk to. She has a startlingly optimistic nature and she always thinks of something good even in worst situations. She’s very nice as well and hates the idea of not being able to help someone.
Suzume’s well known for doing anyone and everyone favours no matter how bizarre they are she’ll do them. She’s also known for her kind acts. For example; if she overheard that someone forgot their lunch money she’d walk over to that person and without a word, smile and hand them whatever money she had.
But Suzume’s also very childish and refuses to ‘just grow up.’ She likes wandering up and down the hall ways of Cross Academy and is extremely curious and inquisitive. She’s intrigued by the night class students and is convinced they have secret…but she can’t bring up the courage to ask them questions and instead sneaks out at night and investigates. It normally ends with one of the prefects or night class students catching her…landing Suzume in a lot of trouble. She never learns her lesson the first time (or the second time or the third time or the fourth…)
She finds tormenting boys very easy and amusing but there’s one boy she’s never even dare to go near. Zero Kiryu. She does find him an fascinating and intriguing person though and would like to find out more about him but is far too much of a chicken to so much as even look at him.
Once Suzume’s comfortable with someone she becomes more talkative and hyper. But she talks about herself in third person sometimes. Theres no particular reason as to why she talks about herself in third person, she just does. Usually its when she’s talking to herself. (Sure we all do that)
Suzume also has a strange fascination with cats and is sometimes seen in her room crawling around the floor, she’s also famous for being able to land on her feet if she falls. This is partly because she did capoeira for a while.
Suzume loves stories about ghosts, vampires and haunted places and often, if she hears of such a place she ventures there with her camera and her note book to investigate. And so far all of her attempts have ended with the word ‘inconclusive’ at the end of her notes in her small note book that she carries around with her.

Character Background (your character history before s\he joined the Academy):

Suzume Akina was born on the fifth of January nineteen ninety three.
Unfortunately her mother was very ill and decided that she couldn’t look after her and put her in the care of Hisoka Miyabi, a foster parent.
Suzume took her foster mothers name because she’d lived with Hisoka her whole life and never really knew her real mother all that well. She has no siblings but she had a lot of cats, when she was little she used to try copy them by crawling around on the floor and still does so now.
Suzume never really had a lot of friends mostly because she’d wander off by herself to haunted places and such. Hence she was known as a ‘weirdo’ or ‘the ghost hunting kid’, actually she quite liked being called the ghost hunting girl. Though she sometimes leaned towards vampire or werewolf hunting.

Suzume took gymnastics and capoeira of her own accord. Her mother made her take singing, piano, violin and guitar lessons. Not that Suzume minded, she just had less time to spend searching for ghosts and such. Her mother thought her how to play the cello and the flute. (Hisoka is a very musical person)
Suzume was a natural when it came to singing and the piano, but the guitar, cello and violin she had a but of difficulty with. Hisoka was patient and Suzume eventually mastered the three instruments.

Suzume was sent to Cross Academy for two main reasons.
One, Hisoka, her mother, is a former vampire hunter and now supports Kaien Crosses idea of co-existing with vampires. And Two, Hisoka thought it would help her be more social if she went to a boarding school.

On her second week at Cross Academy she found a stray cat, whom she named Kanon, and keeps her with her as much as she can and she hides her in the library other wise.
Sometimes she’d carry Kanon on her shoulder when no one is around.
Suzume go’s to the moon dorms at twilight every now and again, although she’s normally looking Kanon who has magically escaped again.

She left the academy for quite some time due to her pursuit of the legends of Himuro Mansion, The Lost Village and The Manor of Sleep.
Whilst inspecting the best candidate for Himuro Mansion, she happened upon a vampire, which at first she thought was a ghost and snapped a photo of it. (Followed by running away) When she later developed the photo she realized that it was in fact a vampire but kept this in formation to herself and has begun to further investigate vampires.

Later, as summer was drawing to an end, her mother Hisoka, fell very ill and was sent to hospital. There, Suzume found out that Hisoka had had terminal cancer for a while and her time was almost up. Suzume didn’t question why her mother didn’t tell her as the answer was clear to her anyway.
She died a week after she entered the hospital, and Suzume did grieve, she still feels a bit of remorse but she was always told by Hisoka that life go’s on even after people you love die and its not worth it to be grieving all of the time.

Since her mother’s death Suzume doesn’t look for ghosts as much but she’s still researching vampires
Suzume returned to Cross Academy as her mother wished her to. She is currently staying with the Amano one of Hisoka’s sisters. She is paying for Suzume’s intuition at Cross Academy.

What are your character's special skills and unusual abilities (if you're human) or your powers (if you're vampire)? Please keep this at least somewhat faithful to VK canon, don't start making up powers that would completely make no sense in the series.

Suzume’s can do gymnastics and she can run very quickly. She also learned how to do Capoeira, a Brazilian style martial arts. She plays the piano, cello, flute, violin and guitar and she can sing very well.
She has a knack on how to use a camera, and has the reflexes of a ninja. Suzume’s has honed her eyes to pick up even the tiniest of details.

How does your character feel about her\his vampiric state (if you're vampire) or How would your character react if s/he was turned into a vampire (if you're human)?

Suzume wouldn’t believe it at first but once it finally sank in she would probably be frightened of herself and become even more quiet. Eventually she’d get over it and move on with her life. And she would probably test herself, seeing whether she would shrivel up if she touched holy water, and such.

Character Family and Friends:

Suzume’s foster mother’s name is Hisoka Akina, and her biological mothers name was Chise Amane, she died a while back, but Suzume didn‘t feel upset but felt guilty for not feeling upset at all.
Her biological father is unknown to her and Hisoka never really had a partner. Hisoka had a lot of brothers and sisters but the one Suzume saw the most of was Amano. The rest she really only saw at Christmas or something like that.
She never had any friends that she had spoken of as far as we know apart from Nene who was taken out of the school by her mother because she wasn’t working hard enough and flunked all of her summer exams.

Items of Note (Objects and other possessions that your character owns that are not common or easy to obtain)

Suzume has a small bell in her hair, Hisoka's sight was never the best so she gave her the bell so that she would know when she was coming.

Character Goals:

To help as many people as she can no matter how small the deed may be, to find out the night classes secret, to attempt to speak with Zero at least once, but most likely fail and to prove that either Himuro Mansion, The Lost Village or The Manor of Sleep exists. Find out more about vampires and try to meet one who won’t eat her. (Preferably one who loves manga.)
She also wants to get over the death of her mother so she can ‘move on’ but so far she is finding it hard but she always tells herself things will get better.

Other Character Information (hobbies, quirks, and other random information) OPTIONAL:

- Suzume’s got a habit of chewing on her bottom lip if she’s nervous. She also has a habit of biting her finger nails as well.
- Rather than wearing the school shoes, Suzume wears a pair of sepia coloured trainers and gets away with it as well because they are sepia coloured like the rest of the school shoes.
- Suzume thinks that there’s something more to the night class students than just brains and good looks and is attempting to find out what although currently failing miserably. Though Nene’s vampire theory is starting to make sense to her.
- Suzume often go’s out on school grounds at night, even though she knows she’s not allowed, and often she brings her camera to look for ‘ghosts’ though the prefects presume she’s taking pics of the night class not ghostly apparitions.
- She sometimes practices her capoeira outside
- Suzume has a small crush on Zero Kiryu, though since she’s left that crush has dimmed but has not yet left her head much to her own annoyance.
- She has a sweet tooth and enjoys eating sweets more than proper food but one of her odd preferences for food is chicken soup, the ones you get in packets with the soluble powder.
- Suzume loves tea way too much for her own good.

The smell of burnt incense was over whelming as Suzume cried silently to herself, kneeling by her mother’s alter, Hisoka Miyabi’s alter. She never wore black before, but this once she felt she should. A black Kimono and for once her hair was down, it was the way her mother liked it.
Amano was crying as well, all Suzume could do was hug her and cry as well. What else could she do? Tell her everything was going to be okay? In the state Suzume was in there was no way she would be able to speak with a straight face.
The evening was humid and the cicada’s could be heard, they would also die soon. A cicada’s life was really short, Suzume had read somewhere.
Suzume wondered when things would get better, when she would stop crying. Hisoka never liked seeing Suzume upset and told her that life go’s on even after people die. Its okay to grieve but don’t grieve forever, that will do no one any kind of good.
She was going back to Cross Academy soon. And for that Suzume was a little glad. She could keep her mind off things, and get back to studying. During her time away she did absolutely nothing and was dying to get some work done.
Things would get better, Suzume knew that but right now it just felt like everything crashed right in front of her. She knew other people must have experienced this, maybe worse. But it hurt so badly, seeing all of her family crying and even crying herself.
This was the first funeral she had ever been to, and it was the most painful she was sure.
Things will get better…things will get better…
