Character Description (tell us what your character looks like):

A thin waist and build, long arms and legs, and a well developed chest are some of Airi's physical attributes. Like many vampires though, she doesn't have to work for her looks, she's just honoured with them. Despite her perfectly formed body, she's very young compared to the other Purebloods, still quite child-like. Just goes to show how long vampires live, that she can be so physically mature at such a young age.

Her hair is dusty white, a silvery colour and travels down her back past her waist. Her eyes are like the sea, a soft blue/grey that illuminate her porcelain skin making her appear fragile, like a doll.

As for what she wears, other than the Night Class uniform, she prefers flowing skirts that accent her body. A combination of black, white and red are her favourite colours of clothing. She strongly disapproves of bright, in-your-face sorts of colours; similarly she doesn’t like people with that attitude either. Generally, she mixes Korean/Japanese style clothes with Western styles, keeping both a traditional and new age about her.

Lastly, she keeps a leather jacket at home, a trench coat of sorts. It's much too big on her, but that's not a problem because she doesn't wear it around company. It was given to her when she first met her brother. She was outside enjoying the first snow of the season, when Rui followed her out and saw snowflakes landing on her bare shoulders. Wrapping his jacket about her, they stood side-by-side and watched the wind blow and snow fall.

Character Personality (how does your character thinks, reacts or acts):

Being a Pureblood is both an honour and a hassle for Airi, as it probably is for many of her kind. It means living a double life; the life that Pureblood’s are expected to live: perfect, upright, good examples to the vampire race, and a cloak of mystery to surround them, as well as many a good loyal Nobles; but theirs also each Pureblood’s individual personality: the reckless, or quiet, or loving, or generally the ‘unaccepted’ the not-so-Godlike nature of the Pureblood. Some choose to ignore the way society expects them to be and waltz around as they please, because no one’s going to stop them, and others, like Airi, know how to please the crowds. She has just the right amount of style and smoothness to pass her off as a talented, thoughtful, perfect young Pureblood; and a great amount of hidden excitement, the thrill life offers her, the wild-side that is only acceptable due to her child-like innocence. Basically, she knows what she’s got going for her, and doesn’t mind shifting her image to suit others, and ultimately herself.

Character Background (your character history before s\he joined the Academy):

Airi lived with her mother, father and older sister for the first stage of her life. It was a good enough life, Airi received lessons and a selective education from her Onee-san, and generally her parents were away. It wasn't an overly loving family, but it was what to be expected in a Pureblood family.

But, as all stories have a twist, so did Airi's life story. Her older sister was killed, murdered. The whole incident was shrouded in mystery and confusion, and on top of that Airi's parents tried their best to keep her out of the loop. Only thanks to Airi's power of emotion reading did she find out enough to let her know her sister was killed. After that, her parents seemed to fall apart.

The Shirabuki line was once very grand, important amongst Purebloods; but over the years that line had become contaminated with nasty incidents such as runaway youngsters, deaths/murders and issues involving humans. Airi's mother became obsessed with perfection, but she was never going to achieve it. Her husband started spending less time at home and more time in the company of the women he really loved, a woman he'd had a bastard child with before meeting Airi's mother. This source of embarrassment was the tip of the mountain for the mother, who turned on Airi for relief. In her mind, if she could make Airi perfect, she'd look better and finally be accepted back into society.

After years of abuse, neglect, strict rules and unrealistic goals that had nothing to do with what Airi wanted for herself, she finally couldn't take it anymore. Her mother had taught her cruelty, coldness, un-caring, hatred and more negativity, but despite all that, she never really killed Airi's spirit. Naturally, Airi was sweet, kind, compassionate and loving. So, armed with two different personalities and the knowledge of when/how to use each one, she ran away.

She traveled all around the world to as many different countries as she knew friends in. Finally staying in Russia, she really grew up there with a very close friend. Airi by this time was such a gypsy though, she never thought back of her mother or dead sister, she only wrote to her father occasionally. He was the one who told her of the Academy and about humans (whom Airi had very little to no knowledge of). She was reluctant to join though, she didn't like staying in one place for to long or being around authority. But after much persuasion and assurance that she'd meet her brother again there, that's where she headed.

What are your character's special skills and unusual abilities (if you're human) or your powers (if you're vampire)? Please keep this at least somewhat faithful to VK canon, don't start making up powers that would completely make no sense in the series.

Airi has the ability to taste and feel the strong emotions of others. One might claim that was something anyone could do, but for Airi emotions are worn like shirts and are that easy to tell apart. Each emotion has a different taste and feel to it, and it's not like she has to actually lick someone, its just something she can taste from the air. Also, if she physically touch someone, she can push her own feelings and emotions into them and they will be under my influence for an hour or two. As time passes after she has released them from her control, the spell gets weaker and weaker, but for at least half an hour, you are totally trapped under whatever emotion she push onto you. Its quite useful, but also hard because sometimes everyone else's emotions swamp drown out her own.

How does your character feel about her\his vampiric state (if you're vampire) or How would your character react if s/he was turned into a vampire (if you're human)?

Airi was born and raised a vampire, and thus was never given a choice as to what she wanted to be.

Character Goals:

I hope to finish my education, although my family are against it.
I wish for contact with a human (a friend maybe?), for I have very little knowledge, or rather experience dealing with them.
And, I want to make my mark upon the vampire society. I am young, unknown, and come from a dysfunctional family; but I want to leave this world knowing I made it just that much brighter and better for my fellow vampires.

‘Hmmm.. I wonder when we’ll arrive at the school. When I spoke to Father about it, he thought that going there was a great idea for me! Of course, when he heard that Rui-kun would be there as well, he was even happier’

I chuckled to myself as I leaned back in the train chair. Turning up the music I was listening to, I stared outside the small opening in the otherwise drawn curtains at the passing land. It was about midday, so not only was I tired, but sensitive to the suns burn on my skin.

‘I wonder who else I’ll meet… will there be other purebloods? Hmmm… Father said he didn’t know much about Cross Academy, but I can get in touch with him easily if I need anything.’

Yawning for about the hundredth time, I let my head lull on the headrest and closed my eyes for a bit.

“You’re the reason Father’s sad! You are nothing compared to that other boy, nothing! You should be instilling fear on all those around you, and yet all you do is laze around, you’re so selfish! Worthless child…”

My eyes snapped open as the train jolted over a bump. Pressing a cold hand to my forehead, I wiped away sweat from the terrifying nightmare. With my mother’s words still ringing in my head, I rose to find a wash room and rid myself of her sickly voice.

I have been away for many human years now, but whether I've been gone long enough for any vampire to notice is another question. I had been spending time in Russia again, visiting the vampires I recognize as my family. I cut my travels short though to return back to Cross Academy and attempt to finish my limited school-education.
