- Hello. I am Suzuki Rin.
In one of my few moments of lucidity, I have been asked (oh-so-politely) to write this application for Cross Academy, which, by the time you are reading this, I am surely currently attending. Schools do not reject purebloods of my stature as easily as they might, say, kick out a human cur of some sort.
That aside, I suppose that I have to get around to answering these absolutely asinine questions.
Some have compared me to Andersen's sneedronningen, the Venus de Milo, and even some porcelain china doll or a useless ice sculpture (poets enjoy nonsense like that). I have a smile like the Cheshire Cat bred with the Mona Lisa, and my hair is green some silvery-emerald strands that somehow wound their way in there. By even the inhuman standards of vampires, I am pretty -- at least, that is what they say, vampires tittering away with their silly foibles and gossiping about those of the noblesse.
I do not waste time admiring myself in mirrors. The brave joke that I was gifted (or rather, cursed) with hair the color of green jade -- that is, green for envy.
Yellow eyes accompany this. These eyes are usually blank, either from lack of interest or my odd detachment from the world entire.
They say ignorance is bliss.
At my level of understanding, it is a peculiar sort of hell.
- Character Personality (how does your character thinks, reacts or acts):
- I once visited a psychiatrist. He classified me as a sociopath.
Whether you choose to believe him, is, of course, your choice.
I believe in free will, but do not think that everyone is inherently good. I tend to be pessimistic and cynical. My acquaintances have often noted my obsession with chess and other strategic pursuits, and I have taken to rationalizing the world as a gigantic chessboard, a platform for mind games.
On the outside, I am your atypical naive, slightly amusing, and always-ebullient socialite daughter of a fairly prominent pureblood family. I have never given my parents cause for complaint, and conduct myself effortlessly through the world. Charming others is easy. Too easy.
If I have a heart, it is black and diseased. If I ever possessed a conscience, it is probably locked away in a Pandora's Box of some sort.
Why am I telling you this, you ask? Why give away the game before it has even begun?
Perhaps I am warning you.
Perhaps it is merely a whim.
Or, perhaps I get a sick amusement out of telling you this, watching you pale in fear, at someone whose beauty and intelligence are only outmatched by their insanity.
Run, little one, run.
- Character Background (your character history before s\he joined the Academy):
- To tell you tales of my childhood would be a futile effort. Suffice to say that it was not the most pleasant sort of childhood possible, but filled with opulent squalor so typical of the times. I grew up in a huge mansion. All my youthful excesses were, and still are, attended to with utmost care.
As a child, I was taught the way of the Suzuki line (that is, to watch and wait). I can manipulate as well as anyone. Engineering chaos and destruction is easy for me.
I take it that you are scandalized -- what sorts of things do parents teach their children these days?!
Well, if all parents are like mine, then the list of sins go on and on. Forgery, blackmailing, lying, even assassination and fencing. I also learnt the basic skills of a pureblood that would eventually be presented to society, such as the art of polite conversation, various languages, and had tutors in everything from musical theory to philosophy.
Before attending this school, I was a student at Institut Le Rosey, a private Swiss boarding school with two campuses -- the summer one in Rolle and the winter in Gstaad.
I am interested in transferring for the sole pleasure of attending school with classes explicitly geared towards vampires (one finds that there are few purebloods enjoying the climate of Switzerland). Also, separation from humans is key. Fascinating at they are, creatures such as you are not to my taste. No offense intended (though perhaps it is).
- What are your character's special skills and unusual abilities (if you're human) or your powers (if you're vampire)? Please keep this at least somewhat faithful to VK canon, don't start making up powers that would completely make no sense in the series.
- Purebloods are considered godlike to even noble vampires. We possess a wide range of abilities, including almost-superhuman talents in all areas. Objectively, I am strong in areas of persuasion, lying, strategy, and feats of the mind. I enjoy memorizing poetry and complex blueprints of things such as guns and weaponry. I am not one who carries around a specific weapon, but more often utilizes the area around me.
Sometimes you can find me training in the art of tessenjutsu, or fighting with war fans. My interest is only that of a dilettante's.
Being a pureblood, I also have basic abilities granted to all of my kind, including being able to turn humans into Level D vampires, hypnotism, mind-wiping, and if a Level D drinks my blood then their descent into a blood-crazed being is slowed.
My main caveat is my abilities with distortion of the mind. Though I myself am classified as unstable and volatile in nature, I can create illusions and deceptions that are so effective they cause psychosomatic reactions in the body. Nothing is real to those who are in my presence... or perhaps they themselves are but shadows created by me.
I am a master of manipulation -- eccentric, but excellent with diplomacy and smoothing over personal relations. I carry around a mask all day and I wear it perfectly. You think I'm sweet? Pretty? Nice?

- How does your character feel about her\his vampiric state (if you're vampire) or How would your character react if s/he was turned into a vampire (if you're human)?
- I was born into the Suzuki family. The idea that I have a 'choice' is such a matter is void.
- Character Family and Friends:
- The Suzuki family has many offshoots, but they take care to keep their bloodlines as concentrated as possible. The main genealogical strain resides in Eurasia, mostly, with myself being the last heir. My parents, Suzuki Akira and Suzuki Yuki, abdicated in favor of me around half a century ago, abruptly leaving to continue their hedonistic lifestyle in Western Europe.
Do I resent them? Certainly. But we're not here to talk about that, really.
My half-uncle, a noble blood named Suzuki Kotaroh, was named my regent until he was murdered by unnamed assassins. There is speculation as to whether it was a blood supremacist, a vampire hunter... or even myself included. Such a pity for the poor half-blood (a real pity).
The other relatives do not speak of me except in whispered passing, snatches of dialogue cut from eavesdroppers' minds, and typically my presence does not bode well for others. Death or misery are in my wake, but it's hardly my fault.

- Items of Note (Objects and other possessions that your character owns that are not common or easy to obtain)
- I own manuscripts upon manuscripts of ancient books, collecting dust and all carefully stored in my family's library back in France. As for weapons, I usually carry none of the usual kind. I do not possess named swords nor flying daggers of any sort. Those are trifles for others, not I.
My weapon of choice is a meteor hammer, a long 2-meter chain, at which both ends are attached two metals weights. One is spherical and the other is cylindrical -- along the spherical weight's equator are spikes. I hold the metal cylinder in my right hand while swinging the chain in my left, thus building up speed and allowing me to wrap the meteor hammer around other weapons or my opponent's limbs, and using the cylinder to block and parry.

- I am sociopathic and have almost no conscience. Any emotions are generated by things that amuse me.
I can memorize just about anything.
I have an obsession with time -- I own alone over two hundred fifty-five pocket watches and grandfather clocks. They all chime in tune with each other and are set to sing to the exact second.
I am not above using anything to get what I want, and by that I mean /anything/. You name it, I'll do it. It's not hard to lose all sense of morality and ethics when you're immortal like myself. I admit to narcissism. I'll admit to all of that. It's just how I work.
- Sample Roleplay: (Provide a well written sample roleplay about your character. The sample has to be at least two paragraphs or more, this shows us how well you can roleplay and know that you are fit for this character if you're applying for a canon character.)
- "Suzuki-san," someone says. She smiles blankly into space, at yet another student hungering for her favor.
And so she gives it, willingly. She stands on a house of cards and listens as the structure shakes beneath her, but it is one of social means and nameless people, vampires and humans alike. "Yes?"
Hands clasped together, she leans on them like she usually does, the sides of her mouth twitching into a near-predatory smile. But the little vampire doesn't notice (they never do). "Could you please help me with this mathematics problem? I'm struggling..."
Her voice trails off into silence, nervous tension crackling in the air.
"But of course," silk-smooth and always available, Rin pulls a chair for the little girl. She sees the problem, easy (moronically and frustratingly so), but she traces the numbers with a single white finger and tells her what to do.
The chess board in her mind spins and rearranges, knight shoved off and a little pawn sitting alone, at the edge of the White side.
"Thank you!" calls the vampire as she runs off, papers held between her hands.
Rin smiles languorously, flicking the pawn off the board.
Check, checkmate.

Yodobashi Hideki - Valizh Rosenkreutz's assassin and lapdog (or so I like to think), he's amusing. For a toy.

Kiryu Zero - The D-Class, but extraordinarily powerful, and a vampire hunter. Another one of my favorite toys.
The Queen
Valizh Rosenkreutz - He is a powerful pureblood, a partner-in-crime for me and one of those people that I would rather not dispose of -- but these are all expendable pieces.
